First steps in "Edit“

After you click Edit, this interface will appear. This page is identical to the view on the web page.

The first thing you do is check that you are in Edit mode. Here you can edit the page. In case no, you need to choose “Edit” via dropdown menu.

Via “Preview” function you can view the page what it will look like on your website.
When clicking it, a new tab is opened (parallel to your edit tab).

Page Information

We need this window mostly at the end of editing, because here we can:

1. Open Properties = Here you can view the metadata

2. Start Workflow = not relevant!

3. Lock Page = Here you lock the page so that no one else can change it

4. Publish Page = Here you can publish it when it is ready.

5. Unpublish Page = Here an already published page is set to unpublished again

6. Edit Template = not relevant!

7. View as Published = Here you can preview your edits/updates and see how the change(s) looks like on the page (WYSIWYG).

  • If you click on the few as publish field, a new window will open and you will see your changes as they are shown on the website. Here you can make the same clicks as on the website.

8. View in Admin = you’ll return to the AEM site structure view

  • When you are done, you can simply close this window.
