Informations before you start
- Gather the publishable content (text, image, documents, ...) ready to be published, i.e. released and corrected. Place this content in the assets before you start.
- Use the "news details tamplate" for your news article page
- The "News Details Template" is the template to use for News articles and it contains by default:
- A "Header" at the top of the page. This header (with a generic background image) will never be edited by an editor and remains unchanged.
Note: Do not confuse "Header" and "News Header". - A "Breadcrumb" component - just under the "Header" indicates to the user where he or she is in the structure of the site.
This element too will never be edited by an editor and will be filled in automatically. - A "News Header" - is a component for Headline and Subline of the News article and is filled partially automatically with data from the "page properties". This component can be reworked individually - See below on this page "Step 8".
- A "Rich Text" component for main content/text of the news article.
- An "Image" component - will contain an image and can be filled optionally.
- "Contact Card Layout" - a component for showing the contact person and contact data.
- A "Link List" component for download - can be filled optionally but strongly recommended.
- A "Header" at the top of the page. This header (with a generic background image) will never be edited by an editor and remains unchanged.
Processing steps
Step 1: Set the article page at the right place
To do this, go in the hierarchic structure of the site to the newsroom area (Newsroom) > News > 2020 (or another year). (i.e. click on the text and NOT the image/icon) the parent folder that should receive the page you want to create and then click on the blue button "Create" at the top right (see picture below).
Step 2: Create a page
By clicking on the "Create" button, a menu will open.

Step 4: Fill in page informations
In the window that opens (see below) you fill in the fields (as far as you know them): "Title", "Name", "Page Title" and "Navigation Title" (see picture below).
Note: These elements can be reworked later but the first field (named "Title") is mandatory. This "Title" will be the title of the page as it will be visible in the tabs of your web browser if you do not fill in a "Page Title".
Important : The text in the "Title" field under "Subtitle" will become the title of the header i.e. the title of your article.
After filling the fields click on the blue button "create" on the top right.
The confirmation (see picture below) shows that your page was successfully created and gives you the choice between two possibilities:
- Click on "Done" if you want to work on your page later.
- Click on "Open" to work on your page right away.
Now we click on "Open" and continue to edit the page with Step 5.

The "News article" template contains by default a text block (Rich text) and an image block ("Image"). However, you can add others and/or change the order.
Text editing by working in the "Rich Text" component
Type your text or alternatively paste it from a text file. Editing the text should not be a problem.

- A panel will open: Click the icon (Assets) then can you search the picture you want to place in your article.

To link the files to your news article correctly, please click on the "link list" component and then on the wrench icon. A dialogue window opens and you can modify the following:

Step 8: Finishing the article with the header
The template "News detail template" has a "News Header" component by default. It is located at the top of the article. If you have filled in the corresponding field correctly, the headline should already be displayed. It is however possible to edit/rewrite the whole and add a sub-headline, a publication date and a category.
Below is an image of the header of this page with:
- a date (default: date the page was created).
- a title entered when the page was created (see Step 4).
- a text "News Header": This can be ignored.

- Clicking the checkbox by "Category Tags" located under "Title and Tags". This will give you access to the tag pool.

Step 10: How to publish a news article?
If you publish your article the first time choose "Publish Page" in the Page Information if you are in the Edit mode and "Managed Publication" if you selected your page in the Page Structure.
If you need to refresh your page content you can select "Quick Publish".
